Dear Friends and Supporters,

For nearly five years the Canada-Africa Development and Relief Agency (CADRA) has been at the forefront of the struggle against poverty in Africa and has set an example of development assistance that has been internationally respected. For the most part, CADRA carries on this work on the basis of many small donations from people like you who continue to respond to our appeals for assistance.

We are acutely aware that, if CADRA is to develop and expand its work as it must, we have to find the means to regularize our intake of donations. This year, we are planning a number of campaigns that will require steady political and financial support.

In an effort to secure the resources we need for this work, we are launching a CADRA Sustainers' Program - a pre-authorized payment system to enable our supporters to donate regular sums of money that will be transferred from their bank accounts every month. Instructions on how to participate in this system are included in this communication. If you decide to opt out of the Program at any time, or increase or decrease your donation, this is easy to arrange. If you wish to support us without using the pre-authorized payment system, post-dated cheques are also an option.

If ten thousand supporters signed up for the Program and provided an average donation of $20 a month, we would have a base of funding that would assist our development assistance efforts considerably.

We thank you for your support. In a fair fight, CADRA would have the same resources as the governments (many of them corrupt) in Africa have been able to throw against us. As it is, we struggle from month to month to pay our rent and meet our basic operating costs and we can only turn to those who stand in solidarity with our fight against poverty in Africa. INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FILL-OUT THE PAP FORM

The Pre-Authorized Payment Form authorizes the BMO Bank of Montreal to withdraw funds directly from your account and to deposit them in CADRA's account. To fill-out the form, complete the following steps:

1. Check the "NEW" box in the top right corner.
2. If you have a personal account with BMO Bank of Montreal, check the "Transfer out" box. If you have a personal account with another financial institution, check the "Transfer in" box.
3. Fill-in the boxes that ask for the name of your financial institution, its address, your account number, your Bank and Transit numbers, and your full name. Your Bank and Transit numbers are usually printed at the bottom of personal cheques. The first three numbers will be the cheque number. The next five numbers are the Transit number, while the next three numbers are the Bank number. Last will be the account number. Call your bank if you need help.
4. You must sign your name or if applicable have both account holders sign on the lines located in the middle section of the form.
5. In the bottom boxes, indicate the amount of money you plan to donate to CADRA and how often you will make such a donation (Monthly is preferred). Make sure to write down a Start date (e.g., March 1, 2008). Ignore the box that asks for the "Branch" and "Empl #".
6. Attach a voided cheque to the form. To void a cheque, just write "VOID" across it. This guarantees that no one can use it.
7. Return the form and the voided cheque to CADRA via mail to:
