African Emergencies Fund
Established to deal directly with the effects of either natural or human related disasters throughout the African continent.
When catastrophes occur, it is crucial that a response team is prepared to minimize the negative effects of the aftermath.
Canada-Africa Development and Relief Agency (CADRA) works with reputable grassroots efforts that are located in the affected areas to responsibly and effectively distribute funds. The impact of your financial and in-kind support will be amplified by pooling the funds together to assist areas that are afflicted and may not otherwise receive adequate funding. Helping People in Crisis
Donations to our African Emergencies Fund will help people in crisis where aid is needed most. For example, nearly two million people have been forced to flee their homes as a result of the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. Canadian Aid to Africa is currently helping people with shelter, clean drinking water and sanitation. In addition, over 7 million people are in critical need of food in Ethiopia.
Outside of the disasters that make the headlines, CADRA addresses the ongoing, extreme poverty that makes every day an emergency for far too many.
