Guidelines for Working with Media Relations
Media Relations Staff
Media Relations staff at CADRA are available to assist local, regional, national and international news media in answering questions about the organization, locating an expert spokesperson, or obtaining more information about a news or event.
Media Relations Policies and Procedures:
CADRA's reputation as a leading international development agency and advocate for the end of abject poverty in Africa and eliminating global poverty, attracts considerable attention from the media. The CADRA Media Relations office handles hundreds of media inquiries each year from local, national and international media outlets, seeking information ranging from development projects and emergency relief programs to opinions regarding anti-poverty campaigns and success stories about the aid to African communities.
Media Contact
To welcome the media to CADRA, the Media Relations office has established the following guidelines for contacting our office to arrange interviews, videotape sessions or photo opportunities:
- Please call or e-mail one of the Media Relations staff members to arrange all interviews or background conversations with any member of the organization staff. Media Relations tracks all media inquiries, and when appropriate, can provide additional or more appropriate sources for your story.
- To assure that readers and viewers understand where featured services, programs or projects are available, reporters are expected to identify CADRA staff by their CADRA title in stories related to the staff member's work or role at the organization.
- Advance notice of on-site interviews is necessary so Media Relations staff can arrange for a room for media interviews or shoots, notify program areas involved, and line up the appropriate program beneficiaries, communities, and program staff for your story.
