Product Donations
The generous support of Canadian corporations through donations of surplus goods worth hundreds of millions has been a cornerstone of many a Canadian charity. Thousands of tons of Canadian medical, nutritional, shelter and educational supplies have blanketed the world by air and sea, from small hand-carried shipments to full air cargo freighters carrying millions of pounds of disaster relief goods.
Commodity donations not only represent meeting the physical needs of refugees and victims of natural disasters, conflicts and endemic poverty, they literally open doors for the introduction of long-range rehabilitation and redevelopment projects, especially after a major disaster in a newly assisted country.
