Billions of gallons of clean, life-saving water lie deep below the earth. Meanwhile, millions of people in Africa suffer needlessly from deadly waterborne diseases. This is the reality of life in many impoverished places around the African continent.
It is horrible to think that every 8 seconds a person dies of a disease caused by the consumption of unclean water. Safe, clean drinkable water is one of Africa's greatest needs and the answer is literally right beneath their feet.
What about water quality resports?
For poor African nations, water quality reports tell only half the story of the devastation little or no access to clean water can cause.
Beyond the statistics are the grieving faces of families who have lost loved ones to waterborne diseases, such as cholera or typhoid.
Is it hard to find clean drinking water
Finding clean drinking water is a never-ending struggle in Africa. In village after village … in nation after nation, stagnant ponds filled with deadly bacteria are often the only source of water. With every drink to quench their thirsts, entire families … entire communities risk their health and their lives.
How does CADRA help
CADRA's water projects provide fresh water wells for villages and communities wherever clean drinking water does not exist. Through these water projects, CADRA is drilling water wells - a life-giving resource for villages in impoverished nations on the African continent. These wells will transform entire communities and save lives.
How much do wells cost?
An individual well costs an average of $3,800 to drill and includes the proper casing and pump. Each well will help an average of 1,000 people.
What can my donation do?
